About our Dental Hygiene Clinic

Although the dental profession refers to the public, whom it treats, as “patients”, the dental hygiene profession uses the term “clients”.   Regency refers to you as a “client” rather than “patient” because we wish to develop a partnership with you to support your efforts to develop and maintain your oral health.

Students are provided with instruments and instructed by Registered Dental Hygienist’s during the first semester. Practical use of the instruments, under close supervision of the clinical teaching faculty, is first performed on mannequins which contain artificial teeth and gingiva (gums). Following successful completion of this practice, students then perform treatment on each other, again under close supervision.

Beginning in semester two, students are sufficiently trained to perform dental hygiene treatment on the public. While Regency takes primary responsibility for the recruitment and allocation of clients, students must demonstrate the competencies of Communicator, Collaborator and Coordinator to bring new clients to the clinic.  Although we encourage students to bring their own clients, Regency does advertise its dental hygiene care at a very low fee of $25.00. The clients are requested to provide their  feedback on the services provided.  We are confident that you will be satisfied with the service you receive thanks to the students, faculty and staff at Regency.

We ask students to seek referrals from you.  You learn first hand what to expect and you likely know best who may appreciate the detailed and helpful service our students offer.  Thank you, in advance, for supporting our students.

Regency offers teeth whitening services for a modest fee.  Additionally, we also offer sport mouthguards (no additional fee is charged to those clients who are under 17 years of age).

January & July are Family Month!

If you bring in a parent you get your teeth cleaned for FREE! You are FREE for the month of January and/or July when one parent receives a $25 cleaning.

*Watch for deadlines to secure your spot. All students are supervised by Registered Dental Hygienists and Dentists.
